Quite frequently (approx. twice a week, in fact) the Guest Relations department have their regular motivational sessions at the meeting room nearby my department. These meetings would include mini-prizes, motivational talks, etc. They’re probably more flamboyant than we are; and I thought the communications department was the noisiest.
If we remember our lessons on the importance of internal relations as a part of PR, this company acknowledges the importance of raising employee morale through so many methods. For instance, I’m very much allowed to come to work in my hoodie, jeans, and sneakers because there’s no mandatory dress code that says you have to dress like you’re going to a job interview (unless you’re attending a formal event).
So you can imagine I looked quite odd on my first day of work but managed to adapt by day 2.
Companies that work closely with customers will deal with all kinds of clients and users. This includes having to handle the daily stresses of being yelled at, complained to, demanded of impossible things, etc. But, as the saying goes, “The customer is always right”.
Do you think regular motivational activities increase productivity?
Does comfort and casual dressing make work more fun?

A definite yes to both questions.Having regular motivational activities within the office is a great way to increase productivity. Motivated employees look forward to coming to work everyday, meaning that they are more likely to give 110% at work. For the second question, all I'll say is:
Comfortable clothes = comfortable people = happy staff = GREAT working environment = HIGH PRODUCTIVITY.
Can't agree more with your post. But in the event that an important client shows up unexpectedly, wouldn't you think it'd be inappropriate to meet him dressed casually?
absolutely agree with you. what i learned through out my internship last month included appreciation among co-workers. My manager actually take the extra step to show a good example on how to appreciate one another. He did all small stuff that may look insignificant but when you take a step back and see it again, it is actually something that motivates all of us to keep on supporting and encouraging each other.
while for working attire, it's the unwritten rule in the company i did my internship at to dress as comfy as possible and when you wear formal clothes, either you're very new, or you got formal event to attend. and it actually rocks! :D
