Hi all,
I have had a bit of a break from the blogging relm recently, however holiday mode is over and I'm getting back into it.
I have been having some amazing experiences with GT Media and its providing me with an insight into the profession of PR. Recently I was asked to come up with a mini event strategy for a Perth online marketing firm for their 10th birthday. The company in question is very modern in terms of their use of technology and new social media.
Whilst many of my ideas were thrown out the door, the company decided to use my idea of using Twitter as a form of guestbook that guests sign out when they leave the party. In tying in with the recent new social media blogs ,companies are constantly searching for different, inventive ways of getting their name into the public forum and new media is a great outlet to facilitate this.
The event is due to host about 1,000 employees, collegues and clients and hopefully this will translate into reaching thousands more in Twitterland.
Untill next time, Jane

Sounds exciting, Jane. When is the event? Make sure you let us all know how it went - twitter guestbook included (will it be public? I suspect so....).
Working so closely with new media leaders means that you might be able to provide us with an insight into new trends and 'technologies to watch out for'. I look forward to your update!
That sounds like a really clever idea with the Twitter account, I'm glad they took it on board. Even if a lot of your ideas were 'thrown out the door' it would have found it quite flattering to have people willing to consider the ideas in the first place! Congratulations
