Hello everyone,
A short presentation is essential as this is my first post on this blog. I am currently completing my PR 393 internship at a relatively new organisation called freehands. It is an organisation connecting 18-35 year old Australians with not-for -profit organisations in need of their time and talent. The organisation do not have a website yet as it is very expensive so we are currently working on some fundraising plan and activities.
Basically, freehands' aim is to create a web space where young people aged between 18-35 (currently Gen Y) will be able to find attracting volunteering positions that are designed specifically for them.
As you all know, time flies and I already completed half of the 20 required days. I am planning to work with them beyond the PR internship though. I feel that there is a lot to do and it is quite exciting to help 'building' an organisation. I have the chance to see and actively participate to every step of the construction of the administration, PR and Marketing plans. So it is very interesting.
Let's keep this first post short. The next one will be far more interesting (hopefully!) as I will give you more details and the work I do and the different issues I face as a PR Student.
One more day and it is the weekend so enjoy it guys !
Alix
P.S. I wrote quite a few post a while ago but it's only that that I manage to understand how to post them of this blog so all my apologies for the delay.
