All About Writing

Finally, I am gaining confidence in writing

First of all I would like to say Happy New Year to everyone. Last time I mentioned that I was becoming a Media Monitor. My task has so far slightly transformed to writing. Now I have much more responsibilities. As I am writing right now on this blog, another page is open with an incomplete letter to be sent to one of our clients. I have become a writer for the organization where I am assigned to respond to selected letters and requests from our clients on behalf of the Chief Operating Officer.

Before I go any further, I want to give you a highlight about the organization I am attached to because I have realized that I did not share anything much about it on my last posts.

AIDCOM (Asian Institute for Development Communication) is the name of the organization. It is an independent regional and non-profit organization accredited to the United Nations with a mission to contribute to equitable human development through the implementation of development communication programmes in the Asian Pacific and is mandated to promote the role of mass media and communication with a view to strengthening the development process in a civil society. Now back to the discussion about my experience. On my last post I asked if there was anyone who have experienced the change of tasks but I haven't received any response so far. My path to writing began with monitoring contents mostly reading feedback from clients and partners of the organization. The first test of writing was about updating the organization's blog and Facebook. I wrote posts about ongoing activities. As I was doing my blogging staff, one day my boss came holding a paper and said "we have received a cheque from this client, I want you to draft an acknowledgment letter and pass it to me for correction before you send it". I was so exited at the moment and also apprehensive at the same time. I comforted myself and wrote it and it was corrected and after that writing became part of my daily duties.

Thank you for reading.

Greetings Jabulani! I’d like use this opportunity to wish you a Happy New Year 2011.

After having a glance at this post, I noticed that gaining the confidence to write for the company is a mixture of bitter and sweet just like ice lemon tea. If you love writing at any costs, you’ll enjoy, just like second nature, where all you need is a pen and paper or a computer but it’s also challenging as it can take hours or even days to brainstorm.

Writing benefits the writer and the reader. Since, we had write for a quite a while, but for a company takes an extra mile called courage. If you have enough courage then the next thing you know a page or two is already occupy with writing. I’m sure we have our boss or supervisor that will double check any grammatical errors or typo towards our writing before the final draft sent to the client/s, hence, courage is a highlight.

For changing tasks, I had the experience as well, Jabulani. At first, I wan’t surprised at all, in fact, I was expecting to experience as much as different tasks as possible. From the dynamic switches of tasks, we’ll learn more and in fact, have a head start nature of adaptation at future work place pretty well.

As the individual or group tasks given may differ from time to time, wishing you more great experiences in the near future and having a really great time.

@ Novita

I couldn't agree with you more. Having a dynamic switch of tasks is an experience bonus. One learns and build up experience on various grounds of the working field.
