As soon as I arrived at the main entrance, there’s a welcoming decorative balloons in a harmony arrangement at the entrance of Danga City Mall Expo Hall, Please come and enter... even visit while me, soon enough will be prepare enough to smile,.. also okay... just come in and have a tour.
My role at the time was as a volunteer where I placed stickers on each visitors front pocket as a remark of manual registration. There were two types of stickers with different function. The round yellow sticker remarks the visitor had pre-registered on Jobstreet Malaysia while the square white stickers remarks the visitor registered manually.
Being a volunteer in having this role and responsibility wasn’t as simple as it seems as it turned out for me and the other who were able to do full time standing up for more than three hours and having to face that some visitors entered in a rush. Besides sticking stickers, to ensure the visitor entrance stayed organized, we were also asked to avoid people exit from the entrance which most visitor didn’t bother to listened and just passed by.
On the brighter side, it encourages and brush up each volunteers people skills, kinaesthetic skills (flexible in sticking the stickers, body language), time management skills, intrapersonal skills (patience), interpersonal skills (networking) and language skills (communicating in Bahasa and English).
5 days after the event was published as an article on Berita Harian. I found it very interesting to quote what the interviewees which was published in Bahasa had on mind about IRDA’s programme (my internship company) organized in collaboration with the Department of skills development (JPK) as follows;
“Any program that focuses on low-income group is good and should continue to help avoid unemployment around the city” (as quoted by Osman on Shaharudin 2010).
“We require applicants for security jobs as soon as possible. For applicants who are interested but did not get into this program, they can come to the Zon to attend the open interviews are held every Tuesday from 2 to 4p.m.” (as quoted by Karim on Shaharudin 2010).

Hello Norvita
First allow me to congratulate you for having a heart of volunteerism. Like they said, pictures speak louder than words, by just glancing at your pictures, i can tell that, career fair at danga city mail expo hall was off the hook.
this company has a strong tactic to reach out to the community, as a way of gaining' trust, loyalty by doing community event. By using this program to help reduce unemployment help clean the company's name because the public matters most, when they are happy, the company is much happier.
