Lately, the past three weeks have been kind of hectic and exhilarating at the same time.everyone has been pretty busy in the office with preparations for small scale events like workshops and coming up with fresh ideas to make things a little bit different for all the up coming events this year in terms of concepts.For the last few weeks , i had been given a task to come up with ideas and creating logos for a media partnership event that will be taking place mid of this year, at first i was excited as it involved me exploring my creative side and i loved every bit of it, having to work more with the Adobe Photoshop software and illustrator.Suddenly the excitement turned into a turmoil.
Since i had previously sent out invitation to our clients and potential exhibitors ,the time had come to do follow up through mail ,of which it was quite alright compared to the task i had to do next, then the boss told me it was time to do follow up by calling the clients.I was so sacred because i know most companies tend not to read all the mail that they receive,it either they spam it or they just delete and now i had to be the one to call them and do follow up . Firstly i have a fear of communication to clients i do not know even though i know communication is the most important key factor to establishing a relationship with a client.I was nervous because some of the clients were asking a lot of questions and one has to be prepared and have all the information on their fingertips, which is not an easy thing to do, initially it is hard to convince someone by a phone call because you cant see their reaction unlike if it was a face to face confrontation.
After several calls i had learned that they are so many things needed when communicating with clients, one has to be confident,polite and be very patient and also give the accurate information.And one more thing i learnt from one of my co-workers is that in times like this, they will always be companies that will reject the offer but i shouldn't give up just because of a few rejections ,success doesn't come easy.
