Management meeting

Things are going well so far for me. I feel welcomed by everyone and made a lot of friends especially with the engineering department. The station manager assigned me to attend every staff meeting. He stressed more in the importance of internal relations. He told me about meeting schedules for the next coming two months and told me about emergency meeting normally with high personals from the Head Office. He also briefed me about what i should do like taking minutes and informing staff well in time about meetings.

The first meeting i attended was on Thursday. Is a staff meeting held every Thursday before working hours and every staff member is expected to attend without fail. I was expected to bring forward any announcement concerning the department before one staff member could pray and say a word of motivation for the week in relation to customer handling. Last week i informed the staff about death of our fellow staff member and all the arrangement regarding the funeral. From what i realized about this meeting, is the fact that most of the staff feel is unnecessary and time wasting. They talked about how people will talk about HIV/ADIS every time. Some youth staff even joked and laughed during this meeting. I informed the boos about that and shortly we will seat down and discussing how to improve the situation.

Management meeting- these meetings are normally attended by the upper management and heads of every division but if my supervisor asked me to attend and discuss the issues of our unit. It was scary seating down with board of directors on the same table. Again one of the not so easy task as I was not used to the jargon's spoken during the meeting and they were usually long and boring as each division had to come up with their problems or anything, that they need the management to know of. I relaxed with time as i saw 'Big guns' joking and smiling with easy.
