Public Relations and Communication Professionals of the Republic of Mauritius(PRCPAM))

Hey PR 393 friends.

During my placement I have had the opportunity to join one of the only Public Relations associations in Mauritius, PRCPA , Public Relations and Communication Professionals of the Republic of Mauritius.It is an association which regroups a number of Public Relations professionals,Public Relations students and all those involved in communication field.

In fact it was my boss who invited me to their AGM and I could have an insight of what is eventually the purpose of such an association.Same as PRSI,PRISA, amongst others,PRCPA is an association which help to develop public relations and to help consolidating the profession which sometimes may be seen as spin doctoring.The association also provide to members with access to a wide database of information and other facilities.Workshops are oftenly organised so as to create awareness and helping PR practitioners to be updated.At the AGM, I registered as a student member.I know this will help in the future.And surprisingly,I was assigned as the administrative secretary of the association.This made me feel more motivated.

As such Public Relations associations are here to help PR people to gather and this allow a sharing of minds and mutual understanding.This also helps for networking,which is an important thing in Public Relations,the biggest your networking is the better it will be.During the AGM I met some important people in the Public Relation field in the country and I’m happy for that because you never know may be one day these people can hire one of us.
