The importance of Events in P.R

Hello again,

So since my last blog, I have been working closely with the Events Team at Squire Sanders (AU)

We have been working together with the Business Development team in planning and executing events which in return benefit the law firm both in signing new clients and as well as entertaining and maintaining a healthy relationship with current clients. There are few things which I have learnt in this past few weeks at my internship. It’s important to attend events, especially the one that you have planned, People attending the event, and their associated networking, are fabulous opportunities to not only promote the business but to also prove your personal public relations (PR).

I have learnt that PR encompasses what you say, what you do and what you are and this includes how you conduct yourself at events. It is just not about getting few name cards from different people, but mainly about focusing on the person you are talking to, to create a relationship, and learn about them, we can never completely build a solid relation with the person right away but we can definitely build a first impressions to make it last.

Events vary in size and importance, it can be as small as lunch for 12 to a big event involving hundred attendees, any size the event is, it should carry the same level of commitment in organizing and executing the event. Hosting an event, seminar or workshop is another great way of reaching out to prospects and customers, and potentially attracting a revenue windfall. I have learned this during my internship at Squire Sanders (AU) and have come to understand that Events is an important tool for P.R. Until next time.
