Last Week of Internship

Hi everyone! This week marks the end of my internship and so is my university life. I had a busy week. I got to finish up what I am left with and on top of that, I have to do handover notes as a reference for my colleague. Besides that, I have a new colleague who has just joined us before the Lunar New Year and I am in-charge of teaching her all the admin side of PR.

On Wednesday, 1 February 2012, I helped out for a Dinner and Dance Award Night for China Taiping Insurance Singapore Pte Ltd. For this event, I was assigned to mend the registration booth along with some representation from China Taiping. When the guests came, I distributed the door gifts to them. At the same time, I have to ask them for their name cards for the lucky draw participation. The theme for this Dinner and Dance is the 80’s thus; we have prepared bow ties for the gentlemen and feather boas for the ladies.

After every guest has reached, I have to rush over to the performance side to coordinate the performers. I have to make sure that they are ready to perform when the door opens. For this, I have to coordinate with the music and the lighting. After the performance ended, I have to send the performer out.

After which, I had to help out with the preparation of the games. I need to distribute the things needed to tables that I was assigned to and briefly explain how the games will be played to each table. Beside these, I have also ushered the prize presenters up and down the stage and have also helped with the prize giving and lucky draw ceremony.

All in all, I thought that this event was a unique and interesting one as I helped out with the preparation of the door gifts and feather boas. My colleagues and I have to make the bow ties. Below are some pictures:)

Also, I thought that this marks a beautiful full stop to the end of my internship. Throughout the three months at my company, I realized that I had learnt a lot on how a PR agency works and the job scope of an executive at a PR agency. The importance of media relations and as a consultancy, how do you deal with your clients and help your client and yourself to achieve your Key Performance Indicator (KPI).

Okay. Got to continue with my report now. Take care everyone:)

P.S. It's a pity that i could not find the group photo of the whole team. Anyway, this is my last blog post and my last day is on the 7th Feb! haha.

Cheers,
