Life after the job

Hello again!

It has been some time since my last blog, i have done this on purpose so that i would be able to write a few things about what has happened to date with my employment at Satterley Property Group (SPG).

As some of you may know i was offered the position of Marketing Coordinator at SPG in December, it was a bit of a shock but something i had worked really hard for throughout my internship and although it definitely is challenging, it is also one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

As the months have rolled on i have been given allot more responsibility and met some big players in the property industry. We have had a complete restructure of the marketing department and thankfully i still have am amazing team to work with.

I am now in the process of sourcing a mentor to help guide me through my career (on advice from my amazing manager), the whole idea of a mentor, particularly once you have entered the workforce didn't seem something that i though many people would bother with, i was so wrong! A mentor is invaluable, they are there to guide and inspire and you'd be surprised at the amount of people who have enlisted the aid of one, even our CEO has a mentor!

My first performance review is just around the corner and i am feeling confident, my manager gives constant feedback which really does help in learning to develop the required skills and in particular time management skills. (this along with prioritising have been my greatest challenge thus far, however i am improving~! yay) One small piece of further advise i would suggest is to ask for feedback, its a great way to learn and really does impress, people want to know that you care about your performance and that you wont simply fly under the radar, feedback really is invaluable.

Well that's me! Good luck with all your placements, remember to enjoy yourself as this is one of the most valuable exercises you may ever have the opportunity of doing.

Thanks for reading!
