I was lucky enough to start my internship at a time where the hospital was involved in coming up with a strategy to implement Community service projects.
First we had to go through our hospitals files to determine those patients that are underprivileged and come up with ways on which we could assist them.
We started off by giving out clothes to the underprivileged patients. Throughout this process,we met weekly to determine our progress. But a lot of the staff felt that we needed to do more.
So we challenged ourselves to do something bigger than just giving out clothes. During our search,we had identified a gentlemen who was disabled and his family income could not provide for the necessary things he needed. First of all, the place he stayed in was very disturbing to just keep a blind eye on.
So we decided to build him a house. A two bedroom house with a bathroom and kitchen built to meet his disability. Public Relations office had to come up with fund raising events, we had to identify the different stakeholders that would help provide us with assistance in making sure the project was a success.
Before my internship period at the Organisation came to an end, we had already managed to raise P10 000 in a space of a month. The different stakeholders we contacted promised their assistance in every possible way they could.

Hey there,
Sounds like you were part of something really good during your internship! Lots of people say PR is all spin and lies, but you prove that clearly there are a lot of PR people at there doing amazing work for some really food causes.
Don't forget to add tags to your post thought, you might lose marks otherwise!
All the best - Ron.
Thanks a lot for your comment Ron.
A lot of people still do not understand PR and why Organisations need PR.
Relatively, PR is still a new thing and hence people will sooner rather than later get the whole definition and complexion of it.
Thanks again for your advice.
Best regards.
