Disable doesn't mean unable

Hi bloggers!

Yes, this is my final post and next week will be my final week in Identitywa.

Working in a non-profit organisation is definitely something new to me. I work every Monday and Thursday and to be honest, i really look forward on going to work rather than attending classes. It's like my little escape from assignments where i get to do and learn something new.

Throughout my working placement in Identitywa, i've learnt more than i've ever expected, especially when it comes to the services and support on what people can do and offer for the people with disabilities.  I am also glad that i was given the opportunity to put my skills and knowledge to good use and i am part of a wonderful team who does such an amazing job for the community. Of course, it all thanks to my supervisor, Tania Clarke, who has been assisting and guiding me all the way. I really do appreciate it.

Twenty days may seem short, but during this 3 months of working, i've learnt the importance about communication skills and dealing with people. I used to consider myself as an introvert until i started working in Identitywa. I've been making a few phone calls while doing researches and i've learnt that building up relationships and ways of communicating is really important as the fundamental step towards a greater success. A shout out to all those who just begin your internship, ASK, if you don't understand anything. Nothing comes easy when you're doing something new but trust me, if you believe you can do it, then you can and there is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of if you did any mistake. It is just a part of on going learning process and never let it get you down.

So i guess that's all from me . For those who has just finished your internship, good job! Give yourself a pat on the shoulder and fingers crossed on getting good result. For those who just started, HAVE FUN and enjoy. Make it a memorable one so that next time, you would have something awesome to share with your future generation. I know i do.

Cheers ,
Josephine Wong

I also started out being an introvert at my workplace. Slowly but surely, towards the end of my internship, well, lets just say you could hear me and my colleagues laughing 3 blocks away.
Amazingly PR does that to you without you realising, you become braver bolder and definitely more confident when you are dealing with people.

Anyways, glad to know you enjoyed your stint, as did I

Cheers :)
