The end

Hey there,

This is my last entry. So far, I've been in control of the media monitoring, archiving and am responsible for the collection and recording of all media bytes for my company. It tedious but someone has to do it! :P It was extra  hectic 2 weeks before and after the movie came out.

After the movie came out, I was liaising with heads of cinema companies across the waters; Singapore and Brunei. The movie was actually shown in the two countries. Also, surprisingly I was given the movie's accounts to sort out. Glad to know they trusted me.

As the days approached of me leaving, I was really heavy hearted to leave the place. I was even considering staying on for a month more. It was because I had worked on the next movie a bit, and I thought it would be nice to at least see it till the 'end'. But alas! I needed to leave. The upside of all this is that its basically right across the road from my apartments, so I still do nip around from time to time.

Suraya, the Junior PR exec who showed me the ropes? I'm quite happy to say that we are still rather close and meet up at least 3 times a week.

What I've learnt from this whole experience is that, whilst PR is a fun job, with great opportunities to meet people you would never normally do under normal circumstances, it definitely is not for everyone.

You have to have a thick skin. I learnt this the hard way. If you can't, then its going to difficult. Thankfully,I had an amazing support group around me at all times during the workplace. And because we are a small company and we bonded fast, work related or not , during that time we were always there for each other. (and we had tonnes of sleepovers so we could all travel together for work)

I'm glad to say I had more good experiences than bad. And I would be forever grateful to God, amazing colleagues and superiors for making my experience a memorable and awesome.

After working at outLOUD for two months, I would have to say beyond any questionable doubt, that I could not have gained the experience and knowledge that I did if I had worked somewhere else.

I was blessed to be a part of a team that worked on a movie! How awesome is that?

Cheers!
Shamini Ann
