First few days experience in working with Children Leukaemia & Cancer Research foundation

Hi everyone,

I would like to share my first few days experience in working with the Children's Leukaemia & Cancer Research Foundation as a PR and Marketing Inern.

Let me first start with the briefing of the foundation:

Children Leukaemia & Cancer Research Foundation (CLCRF) is a non- profit organization that supported by Princess Margret Hospital and a group of parents of children with cancer. CLCRF foucs on providing support to cancer research and aims to make a difference in the lives of children who suffer from leukaemia and other cancers and providing funding for vital research.

Well, I was start working in week 3 and mostly work for 3 days per week. In the first few days of my internship, the executive officer of the foundation asked me to give a suggestion of their social media improvement in Facebook, Twitter and their official website.  I was thinking like "Oh my god, that's easy! It's completely like what I've been learnt in Uni".  Maybe she want me to start with a easy job that i feel familiarly with it. Haha~
and for sure, I applied my PR and Marketing knowledge to analysis their social media's weaknesses and provide a couple of ideas in each of the problem such as their social media is lack of awareness, and there are only 133 people like and subscribed their Facebook page, so i recommend they should keep regularly update the page like post some news, any upcoming events and remind for donation and add the Facebook link in the corporate branding , etc.

Moreover, the other task i have to do is review their last year campaign and also give solution of the challenges that hope to avoid in next time.

This is an annual family day campaign which called " CLCRF annual concert".

Unfortunately,  in last year 2011, this campaign was facing significant decrease of attendants and according to the research, the reasons for this is there are many others charity campaign are also happening in the same month such as St. Patrick day and International Wonmen day. Well, apparently we have to increase the competitive of the event which could invite and add more powerful entertainment or well-known celebrity at the event.

Let me  just stop in here first and my next post will mention about the bequest program that i am doing :) Thanks for watching !!

Bye~
