Never thought adding up budget would be this difficult!!
Hi everyone,
So its the last step of the health way grant which is to add up the budget and putting everything together. Because all the editors and especially Marty Foxfeet Director, she wants the show to be a good one next year as it is presenting Foxfeet and Colosoul's new fashion magazine Vashti. PRevious fashion shows have been a sell out and next year the show will be expanding its audiences to 600 people. In meetings we discuss that we would like to have more vacancies for emerging designers that means we need more models are roughly a minimum of 40 models are needed but the crisis management we have is that we can't afford to pay all 40 models their normal wage so we are seeking a few agencies if they could give us their new models at half cost and also recruit freelance models. This will be a difficult and tidious job as we need to have a call out and also have auditions, which makes it a lot more work to do :(
Another problem with the budget is that we are applying for the alcohol license during the event but this means we need to hire bartenders with license during the event and this will also increase the cost of the budget, as previous year there was no alcohol served during the show therefore is did not exceed the budget.
Next year there is alot more of add ons to the show as each year colosoul is bringing a better show for the community and public, as we promised. Since everyone in the team is abit stressed out about the budget Tricia Ray called a meeting with everyone to discuss about the budget and that if we are not able to pay full for some category we have to be smart and cut down the prices and negotiate with the organisations and outlets because healthway could only give a certain amount and it has to promote healthway in a good light.
We all came to an agreement that we need to carefully decide what we really want and need in the show, instead of having 2 brand performing in the intermission of the show, we will cut down to one at the end for the after party of the show that will last slightly longer than the intermission. And instead of paying for a few bands to play and waste that money we decide to have one good known band to perform that the community or public are aware of.
Taking such considerations made the work of doing the budget ALOT EASIER!
The last hiccup at work was the venue :( WE were going to host the show at the WTV warehouse if any of you know where that is! But apparently it is getting sold by the government and therefore we can't host it there anymore and we are frantically trying to find a space to hold the fashion show, a space that looks like a warehouse. If any of you know of a central place in Perth that has a good space to host the show could you please let me know? Thanks :) There are a few places that we have in mind as ourt back up option in Perth, subiaco or leederville but nothing set in stone yet. We would prefer if the venue is part of the council as we are not able to afford to pay for a venue unless it is beind discounted or being reduced in price for a non for profit organisation or sector.
Till Then Guys.
Signing off,
Madlin Zamir
