Hi everyone,
So I decided to post all my bloggings now because I have been so busy with the internship and doing my repor and it has been a hectic week for me from all the meetings I have to attend to.
A few weeks ago Tricia Ray my Editor In Chief assigned me to be the Event Manager for the Foxfeet Fashion Show 2013 and I have been busy researching and doing up a healthway grant list. For some of you who are wondering why does Colosoul need to fill that up, its because it is a non-for-profit media organisation and it relies on grants and sponsorship for their events. I had to attend a few meetings just to get the budget organised and listed in the grant. As there is so much pre preparations for the fashion show, there is so much quotes that needed to be listed in the budget for healthway to grant us for the show. Because we are a non for profit organisation there is a few limitations because we could not go 'all out' as there would be a certain budget to abide by and we have to cut down on cost as well. Part of the money raised during the show will be given to Extinction Sucks as that is organisation that the fashion show is supporting next year.
Foxfeet is the fashion agency that Colosoul has started and it is agency which supports emerging WA designers and allowing them to showcase their talent and work to the public and community. So what does Foxfeet actually do is that they will have a call out for emerging designers to take part in the show with a fee of $100 and they can showcase 6-12 outfits in the show depending on the running shedule. This will allow the designers to get their brand name out there and also to showcase their work. This is a good opportunity for fashion designers in their last year of university or tafe, as it will be a great chance to get their work to be seen. Tricia Ray is trying to get our fashion show next year to be apart of the PFF 2013 and in that way the designers will get more publicity in the fashion industry.
Recently I had a meeting with the Foxfeet Director Marty Collins and she was informing me that each year of the fashion show they have a huge number of emerging designers wanting to take part and there fore next year they would want to to increase the slots of emerging designers on the run way and also next year we are discussing of having stalls or booth for emerging designers if they want to sell their pieces to the community and public. It will be a great way to get their work out to the public :)
Lastly its been an overwhelming week for me, there is so much research and work to be done as the due date for the grant is at the end of October where exams are :( so I have to get it done before exam week!! Well I should scoot off now and finish up the grant to be over looked by Tricia Ray next week!
Signing off
