Hi Everyone!
So everything has been going really well at my internship, I
am getting the hang of it all now which makes it much more enjoyable! My
manager has given me the task of organising a launch night/gala event for the
One Day of Positivity Campaign. The venue has been organised (The Duxton Hotel)
so now I have the task of inviting people, writing up press releases and trying
to get some excitement building around the event and of course the campaign!
One thing I have certainly noticed since starting my
internship is that its hard to get a social campaign off the ground, especially
in it’s first year and with next to no funding. Luckily we have managed to get
some amazing ambassadors on board and inviting influential business people and
the media hasn’t been as hard as I once thought it might be!
The event is really starting to come together, we have
organised two keynote speakers, the first being Tracey Hodgkins who is a social
entrepreneur and the winner of numerous business awards. The second speaker is
Phil Britten who is a survivor from the Bali Bombings in 2002.
The night will also have three awards being given out –
Positive role model of the year, young positive role model of the year and the
positive council of the year. Nominations for these awards have started coming
in and we have sourced an external judge for the awards.
It has certainly been busy! There is also a family event
that I haven’t personally been involved in organising but I will be attending
the event so I will update you all with how that goes!
Until Next Time!
