Come sail with me

Last Thursday, I was lucky enough to be a part of the ESCAPE event where we sailed away on a cruise across the swan river with Captain Cook Cruises’ Lady DeVine What better way to spend a Thursday evening than on a boat elegantly sipping on a glass of wine and slurping on oysters!

As guests arrived on the Barrack St Jetty, they are greeted by an array of floral displays and were even given one to wear on their hair or pinned to their jacket. They would then pose in front of a beautifully arranged backdrop of white roses designed by Ellie before entering the boat.

One of the things that I hear a lot as I greet guests before they enter the boat was about how beautiful the weather was. Perth has been going through one of the most unpredictable weather recently, with sunny days ruined by sudden downpour of rain and extreme windy conditions. We were lucky enough to have the weather on our side and enjoyed one of the warmest days in weeks.

As we set sail towards Claisebrook Cove, a variety of culinary delights and light entertainment was provided to compliment the stunning views along the way. CK food catered the night with some delicious truffled mushroom terrine, goat cheese mousse and more elegantly presented dishes. I personally loved their chocolate dessert which was made up of chocolate biscuit topped with more chocolate and mousse.
Another dish served on the cruise was oysters with a variety of appetizing sauce options provided by Black Pearl Oyster Shucking. I personally do not like seafood and have had a terrible history with eating oysters but when I had their oyster, it was the first time I have actually ever enjoyed it. It was really fresh as the oysters were shucked on the spot.

The last culinary attraction of the night was the wine provided by Larry Cherubino which complimented the other dishes perfectly and delectable to drink as we set sail across the majestic swan river with the view sun setting on the Perth skyline.

Other than food, guests were entertained by cute and quirky caricatures by Magali from Beau est Mien for guests to take home as a memento of the night. For the guests that wanted to escape from their back pains and worries, they could indulge themselves in relaxation and massage by Le Beau Day Spa.

Overall, it was a memorable night and a delight to the senses. The cruise provided a space to detach ourselves from work and life responsibilities and to simply socialize and enjoy ourselves. It was definitely a relaxing night and an escape from the hustle and bustle of life!

Here are some pictures I took from the event:
