Press Conference Is In The Hotel

Even though on the 25^th of February was my last day of training in my working placement BUT 

it was also the last event activity that I worked on which was the press conference held by Novotel Kota Kinabalu 1Borneo that launched Planet 21 Mount Kinabalu Charity Expedition 2014. The main purpose for this charity event is to give back to the community and create better future for needy children and also to create awareness on Accor’s sustainability program called Planet 21 and CSR program, A Tree for a Child to the general public. This event has been invited several media such as Oversea Chinese Daily News, New Sabah Times, Daily Express, Utusan Borneo, Radio Television Malaysia and so on.

I remember what I have learned about press conference or media conference during my lecture time but after all it was definitely a good experience and knowledge when you came to real life to deal with the real press conference. During the day, I have double checking the press kits are well prepared the day before the event happens, as well as the function room is well arranged for the conference. And once the media came to the spot and I need to distribute the press kits that include the press release of the event and also the charity program list. It is important for media to have press kits with them because all the details and information regarding to the charity event were well written inside. By having the full details for media, it allows them easy to understand and easy to work on the new's story angle that they are going to publish in the newspaper.
