Going into the third week, started to go deep into the real world working experience. I worked was attached to one of the Directors in the Organization which we were sent the Organization in regarding matters. The meeting was held in the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development (MMSD). Several meeting were held in the week of 13th July 2015 where representative from agencies and boards of the Mining Sectors under the Nigerian Mining were present.
The agenda was to draft a Brief to the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria on the strategic positions of the minerals and metals sector, and its diversification potentials to the Nigerian Economy which was to be presented by the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Mines and Steel Development(MMSD).
The meetings held included 12 agencies and 11 departments which all had their representatives present including SMDF the organization I was Interning for. We held several meetings which all parties worked together to develop a report that consisted of the Sectors vision, mission, Core mandates, performances, stakeholders, outcomes, challenges faced and way forward which also included SWOT analysis and lastly strategies for developing the Nigerian mining sectors.
