Creativity matters much in real-world experience

Hello, everyone! Initially, I just applied to Grand Palace Hotel Miri as intern trainee and presently I had gained so much knowledge and experience throughout the internship period. I feel thankful to work with Grand Palace Hotel for my PR internship program which had already come to the 21st day. Auspiciously, I had experienced a completely distinctive involvement throughout the internship program, whereas I could always felt the gratification and the joyous from completing those challenging tasks. The best thing was that my supervisor offered me several opportunities to access the public relations work tasks, those made me adapted well assuming myself as an authentic public relation officer of this working place.

Thus, the final work task of the last few days was I been appointed to in charge on the designs of Christmas cards and bookmarks which align to open for sale at the beginning of November. The PR & sales executives approved the design with 21 sets of Christmas card and 15 sets of bookmarks, while those were one of the corporation promotion techniques for grabbing more attention to promotes our hotel in Miri hotel industry. It was a challenge for me as a student who was not majoring in design, but for the intention of assists my supervisor and simultaneously anticipate to learn and explore more skills that might applicable in the future occupation scope. I believe there will be other things that I never learn during my studies in Curtin appear unconsciously in the future and I should have the appropriate attitude to encounter any possibility happens within the range of public relations work.

Although those finished products were not be publicizing during my internship period, but still it was an affirmation on my work capability no matter now or in the future. Anyway, I am glad that I being helpful to them and had experienced the very first launch of corporation work task that officially approved by the authorization. It was a memorable reality practice to attain my obligation on gaining more knowledge towards public relations scope of work approach. All along the working experience in Grand Palace Hotel Miri, it did enlighten me on how one corporation collaborates and communicates with various of relevant stakeholders and applying those public relations techniques.

Meanwhile, hotel industry public relations usually emphasize on exquisite dinner table menu and event signage work to impress their guests. They usually seek for high aesthetic level decoration for every single event elements, without any doubt highlighting on this aspect able to publicize and getting recognizable within the community. Thus, one of my every day works was to design each event table menu and signage based on the event theme.

Till then, happy working. Cheers~
