well guyz hello again, i hope all of you are having fun with your work because i am.......I'm so glad that i am doing intenship in MPC because its opening my eyes alot in of public relations just recently i was asked to write an article about the awards called the ICC awards that my company will be giving to the outstanding businesses in Malaysia so what i did was i read all the available materials on the ICC and went back to five years back pertaining the companies that won because the main aim was to motivate other companies to enter the competion hence create awareness of my company to the media and the rest of other key public like the businesses and the community. i learnt that it does not really take a big and complicated strategy to create awareness of the company to the key publics because sometimes big strategies are oftern misinterpreted or seen as complicated and therefore the aim of the strategy failed so i say simple and straight forward strategies and tactics are in most cases helpful as long as the strategies and tactics are seen suitable for the targeted key publics.
so that week was all about creating awarenss of the company so my second task was to do a short script for a corporate video of the company i'm interning so doing Film and television helped me alot when it came to this assignment as i found it much easier to do the only problem faced was the language that i was to use which was Bahasa Melayu as the corporate video was to be played in a television station that speaks Bahasa Malaysia most of the time, so my supervisor asked me to write in english and later on will translate to BM. one may say that writing scripts for corporate videos is not part of PR rather if FTV or DFTV to mention a few film and television courses, i also felt like that at first but later on i realised that the industry out there is very difficult to penetrate so one needs the knowledge of media and how television stations as well as film do inorder to help PR in its work. so guys do you think that having the knowledge of PR is eneough for one to be able to penetrate the industry or one needs a bit of everything?

I am enjoying my work over here and gaining more experience. Public Relations is a broad topic which needs other skills to complete it. I used to think that only basics knowledge of media will help in Public Relations but I realize that I was wrong when we were asked to come up with media angles and ways of carrying them out. We are also leaving in an era of technology which also needs technological skills. Use all the skills you have and always aim to gain more skills and technology to be successful and effective in the Public Relations Industry.
