INTERNAL RELATIONS VS COMMUNICATION TOOLS

NAME: Montle Modisawamarole
CAMPUS:LUCT

Hello everyone nice to back again, i can see most of you are done with blogging.
My  topic for this week is about internal relations and the use of coomunication tools in Universiti Putra Malaysia MarComm. What i have learned is that if the communication is transparent within the staff then that shows how free they are to express their complaints. As a part of the larger public relations function, the goal of internal relations and employee communication is to establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationships between an organization and the employees on whom its success or failure depends http://www.edvencomm.net/prreport.pdf.

Some of the commmunication channels used in MarComm are as follows:
Ø  Internal Email –Use of mails within the staff members to communicate with each other on work     related matters with the use of computers provided by the Division.
Ø  Phones – Employees are provided a phone line for professional communication.
Ø  Meetings – These are frequently organized based on the pressure of the work, so as to encourage group discussion, decision-making and problem-solving.
Ø  Notice Board – Important information and announcements are posted and updated daily on the staff’s notice board.
Ø  Website – Company news and information are posted on the company’s website.
Ø  Campus magazine The Putra – MarComm has a magazine which comes twice in a year and it is accessible online, the Putra provides news about the University.

Withing my eight weeks as an intern in UPM we had potlucks and present sharing during valentines day.Having lunch together was one of the staff's culture.Looking at all these is it clearly shown how internal relations in this division is and this motivate workers daily to have a sense of belonging thus increasing the productivity level.
Till next time
cheers!!

Wow I never thought of this before, Internal Relations VS Communication Tools, It seems like in your organisation you used different forms of communication to reach to each other which is very good.At our organisation we also used different forms of communication to reach to each other. We had an internal email we used. Everytime we had n announcement to make we send everybody a message through the email, and we also had the announcement station where we talk to them through the mike and it reaches them all. Phone was also a source of communication in our organisation, every office had its phone so you can contact everyone you want talk to through the phone too...

Yes Jackie communication in UPM was one of the best things i came across and it sounds interesting to hear that even in your department it was like that.

This shows that internal and communication relations are the keys to successful organisations. Two way communication within an organisation creates a mutual understanding for a win win situation.

I am looking forward to meet the same working communication relations in the future companies i will work for.

hi Montle
its interesting to learn that your company is well ahead in the technology area.
this shows that the internet as a communication tool is very vital especially when it comes to internal communication in the sense that, it is convenient and time saving.
this is to say that, instead of calling meetings for briefing everyday, the company can use emails to communicate with the affected people well in advance to save time.
as for me it was all about answering complaint calls and even giving relevant answers where needed.
funny enough, we also had suggestion boxes that helped with peoples complaints and suggestions which i know most of you will think its an old form of communication looking at the technological era we are living in.
