TPFF you have been good to me and I will surely miss you!
It's funny how you can get caught up in that world, it's so fast and intense. So much is happening at once and the pressure to perform is certainly not for the faint hearted. I considered myself lucky to have only been an intern as I am sure the TPFF team would have felt their lives were put on hold for that one week. It's clear, that to succeed in this passionate industry you must 'love what you do' otherwise you can be left feeling drained.
From start to finish, the Festival was electrifying! With Opening night showcasing a sleek 'Black 2 White' Alkemi collection of contemporary fashion which left the crowd in awe. I was lucky enough to be seated right by the media pit and captured a short glimpse of the night on video, take a look below and let me know what you think.
Leading on from this, closing night with Zhivago was simply captivating and truly innovative. The creative team behind the runway show presented a robotic take on fashion yet still embodying grace and femininity of the label. TPFF pride them selves on delivering these 'money can't buy moments' and it is fashion moments like these that make headlines in the paper.

The PR team..
Alana,Tess and myself along with three other interns together with the Fashion Force volunteers managed all PR smoothly and formed a strong PR alliance. Our team was to manage all media enquired and ensure all media were in the designated areas depending on if they were given backstage passes to conduct interviews. It became clear to me that the amount of volunteered time given is a vital resource to TPFF and without their help events like this would not be feasible.
The end to a fierce experience …
"To my TPFF colleagues who are now friends I will miss! The team was exceptional and I have definately learnt from the best!"
After all the melt downs the team pulled off an exceptional week of fashion and they should be extremely proud! The lessons learnt are limitless and I am sure I still have plenty more to discover about PR in the wider industry. Whats more, I learnt that PR is just a small aspect of what our degree at Curtin can provide us and TPFF is living proof of this. After many conversations with the team it became clear to me that a handful of staff studied a field of commerce of some sort , particularly PR and this lead them to try a mixture of specialised areas and enabled them to secure a position in the industry. We as graduates can mould ourselves like this into Marketing/Event/PR gurus and all it take its sheer determination. I can't wait apply my skills that I have learnt at the Festival to my first PAYING job!
Looking back this 'industry ready' unit provides any soon to be graduate the clarity of what to 'expect when your expecting' their first JOB! And I am very pleased to have completed this unit!
Peace out PR peeps!

Hi Chebet,
This sounds like a great PR internship, having volunteered with PFF a few times in a small position I can imagine the work you must have put in. Having noticed some of the PR activities around Perth, interesting to see how far they have come with their tactics and such a great experience to have been a part of that. Great blog post and really fascinating to get an insight.
