More and more intense works, but I love it!

Hi guys, I'm back! I know it's been awhile since my last post. Today, I am going to share another new experience that I learned from my placement which is the Interhill Group, Miri from the past few weeks. As the week goes by, the tasks given to us became more intense, but I do love every task given by our lovely PR Manager, Angelyna because it was challenging yet fun at the same time. 

On the third week of my internship, I learned the importance of good teamwork as there were a lot of events and tasks that me and the other intern, June need to complete before Christmas. I was given the responsibility to handle the media registration, giving door gift to the media, and ushering the VIPs during the signing ceremony between TM and Interhill Group. I am so grateful to be given the chances to experience how an event was done, doing rehearsals, wrapping the door gifts, communicate with our special guests and also to make sure the chairs, banners, lighting, sound system, and food were in good position. It was a great event and everyone was giving their best to make sure the event goes well until the end.

Apart from that, I was given a lot of other opportunities such as doing the press release, monitor the press release by checking all the newspapers the next day right after we had sent our press release to the media, do the Interhill's CSR Report 2014, do PR translation from Bahasa Malaysia to English, contribute ideas for Interhill's After School Project Highlights (ASP) of the year 2016, updating and monitoring the ASP Facebook page. Me and the other intern also received another new task by our Manager which is scanning the media clippings of Interhill Group starting from January 2015 until December 2015 and then we need to count the total value of each article. It was difficult to do the scanning using the unfamiliar machine at first, but it got better as time goes by. Most importantly, good communication and teamwork is essential to make the group works became faster and efficient. 

It's been a hectic week and our task was not over yet, because the next day we went out with our Manager and bought several cakes, then we sent the cakes to media as an appreciation for their good work and to maintain good relationship with the media that our company had recognized for years. Before the end of the month, we also managed to arrange a visit to Petroleum Museum Miri with the children of After School Project. The main purpose of the visit was to learn the value of our historical and respect our ancestors. There are so many activities that I had experienced in this few weeks and I am grateful that I was able to learn important lessons from every activity and people that I had met.
